This is the first sentence the Managing Director of Jungheinrich Italy told me during my job interview.
At that moment I didn´t fully understand what he meant but now, after almost 2 years, I realize what having the “yellow blood” running in your veins means. When I first joined the company, I had a feeling that I was going to fall in love with the company and its people. Now that time has gone by, I can say with certainty that I made the right choice.
I decided to participate in the Jungheinrich International Graduate program because it represented everything I was hoping for to start my career, a young and dynamic environment and working experiences abroad.
The program is designed for the participants to improve their personal and professional capabilities. We participated in four training sessions with different themes: Communication, Entrepreneurship, Emotional Intelligence and Project Management. We dealt with our inner skills, we went several times out of our comfort zone, and we enhanced our soft and hard skills.
Regarding the company, Jungheinrich passes off as a highly structured and successful company that maintains its care for its employees, though the family which is spread all over the world; having offices in 36 countries and being represented by our dealers in 70 more.
The core values of the company aligns itself with my personal beliefs and values, and this helps to create a bond between the company and myself. The level of innovation in Jungheinrich continues to fascinate me even today with the strong organization and detailed planning behind every process, and the high level of quality of the service provided.
From my personal experience, I can say that the impact of this program on my life has been enormous. I became more aware of myself, I improved my skills and it helped me realize my true interests for the future. In fact, right after my first abroad assignment in the Headquarters, I was offered a product manager position in the Long Term Rental & Finance department, and even though this proposal implied lot of challenges - new language, new job position, new colleagues, new city; I took all my courage, left the program early, and started a new journey in Hamburg.
This program has definitely raised me to another level, and I will recommend that you, dear reader, also embark on this journey.
