How do you start a Trainee Program with 14 new JIGs from five different countries or three different continents?
All of you together travel 65’225 km from all over the world to get to the headquarters based in Hamburg.
All of you share the same level of excitement to meeting each other and your future colleagues.
All of you start a 14 days onboarding event at Jungheinrich.
The onboarding event began with a five-day product training at the Jungheinrich Training Centre, which is located at the Jungheinrich plant in Norderstedt. We were introduced to the Jungheinrich business model and its products. Instead of a traditional classroom-style teaching, we had the chance to experience the hands-on mentality of Jungheinrich: We drove a couple of trucks simulating a forklift operator piling up pallets. We got to know the basis of the company by spending two days in the factory assembling our trucks. We visited our fully automated spare parts distribution centre in Kaltenkirchen to experience an integral part of the global Jungheinrich After-Sales business. These days made it easy for us to get a complete picture of the Jungheinrich group.
Together with the Jungheinrich business model and its products, networking was a central feature of the kick-off event. We were able to meet current and former JIGs from all over the world. Apart from our JIG colleagues, we also met several department heads who introduced themselves and their departments during a business forum. During these networking occasions, we got to feel the great entrepreneurial and team spirit within the company and thus quickly became part of the strong JIG community.
Overall, the kick-off weeks were not only excellent organized, but also exciting in order to get to know the company, fellow JIGs as well as many other employees from different departments.
The perfect experience to start a new and long lasting career at Jungheinrich!
